I came across it whilst researching allergic symptoms relating to wood turning wet Cherry wood. Two fellow Woodturners had mentioned having a sore throat, headache, and slight tightening of the chest after turning the wood.
I notice that you don’t have Cherry Wood specifically mentioned on your chart, which is not surprising as there must be thousands of tree types around the world.
I have no idea as to the specific type of Cherry tree it was but it was over 30 years old and from the UK.
This very informative website must be useful to a whole host of organisations that use wood or timber in their products or hobbies.
I am a hobby-woodturner from the UK and like most of us have suffered from minor irritation to hands and skin after contact with wood shavings and dust, (mine was after turning Purple Heart) so I hope you don’t mind if I pass on your web address and link to our club membership..
